Eric Juneau

Eric Juneau is a New York based conductor, keyboardist, and opera coach. Originally from Virginia, he attended the Cleveland Institute of Music, receiving Bachelors of Music in Oboe and Music Theory. While there, he completed a semester abroad at the Paris Conservatoire (CNSMDP), worked as a music theory tutor to both undergraduate and graduate students, and participated in the Case Men’s Glee Club, coaching their barbershop quartet.

After graduating, Eric entered the Eastman School of Music as a teaching fellow in the MA Theory Pedagogy program in Fall 2020. Deciding to return to a career in performance, he later moved to New York City and completed his Master of Music in Conducting at the the Queens College Aaron Copland School of Music, studying with Dr. Mark Powell. During his masters program, he rehearsed and performed various works by living composers in addition to the standard repertoire. In 2023, he made a successful debut with the New Conductors Orchestra, conducting Stellarium by Michael Rosin and Cathedral Grove by Daniel Godsil.

In the Summer of 2021, Eric attended the Cincinnati Conservatory of Music’s Summer Opera Bootcamp for conductors. In 2022, he attended Opera Viva, studying collaborative piano in Verona with Joyce Fieldsend and Dr. Lisa Sylvester. And, in 2023, Eric participated in the Opera Company of Middlebury’s Young Artist Program as a collaborative pianist, performing Barber’s A Hand of Bridge, Menotti’s The Telephone, and selected arias.

Recently, Eric has been engaged as co-conductor and rehearsal pianist for Teatro Grattacielo’s production of The Tin Angel, and as a music director for Queens College’s Drama Theatre and Dance department (Ride the Cyclone, 2025; Musical Theatre Workshop II, 2024; Mr. Burns, 2023). In Spring 2025, he concurrently served as orchestra manager for the Queens College Orchestra & Wind Ensemble, as music director for Our Lady of Fatima RC Church in Manorhaven, and as a private instructor of both voice and guitar. In Fall/Winter 2025, Eric played Keyboard 1 in The Blue Hill Troupe’s production of She Loves Me, co-conducted his friend Emre’s degree recital, and helped co-music direct St. Teresa’s of Sunnyside’s Christmas Concert. This Spring, he is serving as music director for the United Nations International School’s Spring production of James and the Giant Peach Jr., and will return to Teatro Grattacielo for their Summer 2026 production of Joseph Summers’ The Tempest. Most recently, Eric has joined the lovely people at St. Joseph’s RC Church in Astoria as their new Music Director!

Outside of his music directing, piano, and teaching work, Eric can usually be found on a coffee date with his lovely wife, Sara, who makes everything possible.
